OUR STORY

The livingroom and ocean view from a cabin of the Nami Project

The Nami was born from the vision of creating a unique project that would beautifully and harmoniously connect three passions: the majestic and wild coastline of the Pacific Northwest, the approach to life and design of Japan and Scandinavia, and the immense benefits of hydro and thermal therapy. Nestled beside the Pacific Rim National Park, in front of the crashing waves of the vast Pacific Ocean, footsteps from the rugged coastline, and surrounded by the Pacific Northwest rainforest, The Nami Project was envisioned, planned, and completed. It was carefully and elegantly designed to become a fortress of calm and serenity where life moves at a slower pace, and one can truly immerse in nature and benefit from the rejuvenating properties of water.

FROM EAST TO WEST

Immersing Two Worlds

Desiring to bridge two very different and spectacular parts of the world, The Nami Project was created to provide an unforgettable experience in one of Canada's best surf and adventure destinations. Connected by a vast, immense ocean and united by the same movement of waves, Japan and British Columbia meet here at The Nami.

BRING MOMENTUM TO YOUR LIFE

Our True Belief

Rooted in the concept of water's formidable force and gentleness, The Nami Project was conceived with the aim of harnessing the power of water and its ability to shape and influence us through all our senses. Water can inspire, energize, hydrate, rejuvenate, purify, refresh, relax, soothe, and heal.

NANCY AND RUBEN DIAS

Our Founders' Inspiration

The name for The Nami Project was inspired by the mighty power of the sea and the endless motion of the waves that can carry and wash up parts of other cultures and history, sometimes for thousands of kilometers. On Vancouver Island's coastline, we can find pieces of Japan's heritage. This unending motion, much like the waves that carry fragments of Japan's heritage to distant shores, reveals the strength of momentum and its profound impact on our lives.
